Signing of the partnership protocol between Unilever Gulf and the Regional Network of Food Banks in January 2016 January 2016 saw the signing of a partnership agreement between Unilever Gulf and the Regional Network of Food Banks to provide Unilever products to serve people in need in the region. The Regional Network of Food Banks has signed a protocol of agreement with Unilever Gulf to end hunger by 2020 and change the lives of deserving families for the better and benefit from global expertise in maintaining safety and hygiene levels for healthcare units, orphanages and nursing homes across the region. Millions of personal hygiene, food and self-care products will be donated weekly to the regional network of food banks for distribution through food banks, healing banks and clothing banks that are members of the regional network in the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon and Tunisia. Dr. Moez Al-Shahdi, Founding Member and CEO of the Regional Food Banks Network, said: "We are pleased with this partnership as it is part of the long-term plan of the Regional Food Banking Network with the private sector, the partnership with Unilever is one of the largest global multinational companies in the world and will serve many humanitarian goals; improving the quality of life of people in need, strengthening community management, reducing food waste and preserving the environment for a better future."
